On 15 December 2022, the Belgian law implementing the EU Whistleblower Directive was published in the Official Gazette (Belgisch Staatsblad/Moniteur belge) and will enter into force on 15 February 20231, changing the way whistleblowers are protected.

On 15 December 2022, the Belgian law implementing the EU Whistleblower Directive was published in the Official Gazette (Belgisch Staatsblad/Moniteur belge) and will enter into force on 15 February 20231, changing the way whistleblowers are protected. The new law includes the obligation for companies of the private sector with at least 50 employees, to implement a whistleblowing system, including internal and external reporting channels.
ComplyLog welcomes this adoption and advocates for other EU Member States to implement the Directive into their national systems as well as strengthening the law beyond its requirements to provide full protections for whistleblowers.
