Codex Advokat Partners with ComplyLog to Provide Whistleblowing Case Handling for Clients

Norwegian law firm Codex Advokat has become the country’s first reseller partner for IntegrityLog for Advisor. The business will use ComplyLog’s whistleblower reporting platform to carry out external case handling on behalf of its clients. In addition, Codex Advokat will work with ComplyLog to inform other advisors and businesses on the importance of managing whistleblowing reports effectively and establishing best practices for case handling and resolution.  

With Norway’s lawmakers looking to align its whistleblower protections with those implemented in the European Union over the last few years, the need for confidential, secure and user-friendly reporting solutions has never been greater. IntegrityLog is designed to fit this bill. This is why Codex Advokat was keen to use the platform to help its clients with the process of encouraging, investigating and acting on reports of wrongdoing.  

Background to the partnership

The law firm identified the complex nature of whistleblowing case management as a key concern for its clients. Challenges for businesses with regard to handling whistleblowing reports include:  

  • A lack of legal expertise and skills in-house 
  • Inadequate resources to manage multiple cases at the same time, requiring staff to be diverted from regular tasks 
  • Inability to find an individual or team without a conflict of interest or bias relating to either the reporting person or someone named within the report.  

As such, the law firm sought to offer an external case handling service for clients, offering additional legal services if required due to the findings of the investigation. This allows companies to benefit from legal expertise and Codex Advokat can carry out the case management in an independent and impartial manner. Clients do not have to worry about meeting legal requirements or finding available team members to perform investigatory work.  

In addition to providing legal experience, Codex Advokat needed a tool to accept reports, communicate with whistleblowers and oversee the status of investigations on behalf of clients in accordance with best practice, allowing for the confidential handling of individuals’ details.  

How the partnership benefits both parties 

Having already partnered with ComplyLog on a seminar about whistleblowing at Oslo Bors in 2023, the firm was acquainted with IntegrityLog as a platform. This made the decision to work together an easy one.

This includes a breakfast seminar on the topic in February, at which both companies will share their expertise and insights on case management.
